i don’t care.

HeyLo,

If I had a dollar for every time someone thought I was giving a damn about what they said, I would probably stroll at Disneyland every single day.

Over the years, I’ve learnt that worrying and getting to anxious about what other people think will only leave you withered. See, there is a vast difference between caring about people and caring about people’s opinion.

We live in a society where democracy runs as free as water (unless you live in Tamil Nadu, like I do). Every step you take will be measured and judged by the onlookers. They are going to whisper about your success and your failure. Laugh at your jokes and at you. You know what is going to happen when you lend your ears and listen to these comments? You are hurting your mind. STOP.

Listening to criticism and learning from your mistakes is a different ball game. But succumbing to hate and jealousy, will ruin your state of being. Been there, done that.

I would be lying if I say, I don’t spend the night crying my eyes out when a friend dumps me or when someone judges my character. I do. I totally do. But you know what I don’t do? I don’t drag it with me ones the dawn arrives. What happened yesterday, stays yesterday. Today is a chance to renew yourself, and start afresh. What I am saying may sound funny, and totally ridiculous when you are going through the roughest phase of your life. But this helps. Shed all the tears you want to, but the next day you have to move on. The world isn’t going to wait for you to get up on your feet. Each second is an opportunity for you to build your future.

One thing that really get’s me through life is the 5 by 5 Rule.

If it’s not going to matter in 5 years, don’t spend more than 5 minutes upset by it.

The next time you are being pushed to sacrifice your time worrying about something or someone, make your own call. To worry or move on and ahead.

Not caring about things will not make you cold-hearted, but will make you appreciate life more and accept it for what it is. It will prepare you to face the worst and the best.

Take care
